Inpatient Rehabilitation

The Rehabilitation Department is staffed with experienced physical and occupational therapists, therapy assistants and speech-language pathologists who evaluate and treat patients hospitalized at CalvertHealth Medical Center. Patients, their families and staff are involved in setting individualized goals and learning skills needed for improved functional success at home. Speech-language therapy is also provided to adult and pediatric outpatients.

Physical and Occupational Therapy

Physical and Occupational therapy can help you regain range of motion and flexibility, increase your strength, relieve your pain and improve your functional status. Therapy can also help you prepare to return to your activities of daily living.

We evaluate and treat patients with the following conditions:

• Post total hip, total knee, and total shoulder replacement
• Post neck and back surgery
• Post orthopedic injury and surgery
• Stroke
• Multiple medical diagnoses such as:
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Cancer related conditions
  • Post surgical conditions
